In the days, when society has reached it's ultimate potential for corruption without confronting the true apocalypse. Kids who should be in college are getting their heads blown off chasing tough ass bounty heads. THere's shrapnel in the bibles that remain, hope is lost, and those who chose to try and survive, wonder why, wonder why they're not dead yet, no matter how many times they face automatic artillery and the hellish "advancements" in weaponry. Suddenly, with the introduction of human enhancement material, syndicates and bastards of all types have the upper hand in the world, with abilities to jump higher, hit harder and handle cannons like handguns. They continue as they are, confronting modern day demons. If any of you have seen Final Fantasy Advent Children, that was sort of going for... Oh and there's no preset plot here...

Rook sat nonchalantly against a broken brick wall, messing with weaponry. She was bent over her 'dragon's breath' when she sat up oredly and streached her left shoulder which often got stiff on her. A group of ten year olds scampered by with half loaves of bread in one hand and mini handguns in the other. She briefly remembered a time in her toddler hood when things had not been this way... Ah well, she'd grown accustomed to this life and was comfortable enough among chaos.

Nicholas trudged along through a broken lot, the toes of his boots kicking shards of glass away from him as he went. His dark eyes were downcast, long black locks obscuring most of his face from view. His trench coat billowed around his long legs as he walked, snapping in the wind created by his wake and the slight breeze that blew. He was troubled, troubled by the violence around him and the unrest in the air. Children ran around with guns in their hands, and people his own age were already long dead...

No, this wasn't right, and Nicholas didn't belong here, but by some misfortune he'd been born when the world was dying, and was here to witness its downfall, so witness it he did. He was regardless to those who disagreed with him; they'd all kill each other off in the end, and no matter how much he didn't care, it still hurt to know others would grow up like him, and die like murderers...

There was an explosion ahead of Nick that shook broken bricks from buildings. Then there was an audible click, some nervous wimpering and then a column of flame rocketed out from an alley ahead, it crossed Nick's path and then into an alley across fromo the one from which the flame was born. "GAHHH!" pained cries filtered through the smoke and so did the shape of a woman.[/glow]
