((Too bad they killed 'im... *sniffles*)) Startled, the young man tensed and jumped back, right hand going to the automatic in his belt reflexively. "Hello?" He wasn't sure what exactly had happened, only that debris and dust now dulled the black of his coat and his hair, and the woman dying in front of him was obviously a victim, be it an open attack or a bomb left forgotten....
He gazed about warily, stormcloud eyes narrowed, waiting for something to happen. If it didn't... well he wasn't completely opposed to violence, and vengeful violence was something he'd gotten accustomed to committing. [/color]

She coughed a bit and sat up, unharmed. The cries were that of whom she had been aiming the dreaded dragons breath at. The bomb they'd set had been her motivation to take them out. She shook, much like a dog, the metal necklaces she wore jingling and adding to the effect. "Dammit..." she muttered, realizing her vision was cloudy. She spat out the taste in her mouth from the dusty air and listened to see if anyone was still about. She didn't like her incapacitation.

Someone was moving... Nick walked over towards her cautiously, looking down on Rook with his thoughtful grey eyes and wondering if she at least was alright.
"What happened?" He asked her, falling to crouch at her eye level. ((I think my last post was a bit messed up... grrrr I need sleep))

Rook jumped a little, suprised. "Eh, fine, perfectly fine... " she rubbed the back of her neck uneasily. She wanted to keep her cool, and not let onto this stranger she could hardly see. "some old muchachos of mine, wanted me off thier trail.. stupidheads set a bomb.. but seems they were the ones who got blown off..." she was talking more than usual, trying to act like she had nothing to fear. "And who are you?" she dared to ask

He listened thoughtfully; she was rather talkative for him. She didn't seem overly dangerous, though, and her story was quite easily believable.
"Nicholas," he said quietly, standing up to look around. "Serves them right, I thinkg..." ((Bye))

Rook wanted to get up, and be on her way. She even stood, as steadily as she could, but the thought of attempting to wander the city half blind made her want to slam her head into a wall. Instead she chose to lean casually against a wall that was supposed to be there, but was actually a few feet back and she stumbled. Her crimson eyes darted once skittishly then hardened and looked off to the side.

Nicholas raised an eyebrow as he watched her stumble. "You okay?" Doubtfully, he asked her the question in a level voice, figuring she wasn't the type(as if anyone was) to accept help.

Rook tried to give him a look that stubbornly said there was nothing the matter, but she ended up looking more behind him than at him.
