Um...I haven't ever done EVENTING but I have done a gram of Cross Country. (just jumping over a log, galloping up the hill and turning, cantering back down and jumping 2 logs...)

Yeah.. I like english still.. but western is more laid back to me. I hate competitions.. so that's why I don't do eventing. Plus, there isn't like any CC courses in our area!

sweet!!! western is cool, i have rode it a couple times im not that good tho lol! Neither am I. For an example... At camp I was riding the most advanced horse at the camp. Ok? Ok...so he was only trained western. Neck reining and all. But he knew how to jump. So then when we were jumping and he went over it perfectly, yet I was used to jumping in an english saddle. I stabbed myself in the lower stomach from the horn. Lol, I have a lot more western stories, but I won't share them.

I had to jump western on my little pony because the saddle would tip and the tail crupper wouldn't fit my saddle so I had to jump her western but I got used to it eventually.

I'd never jump western, far too painful. I'd love to get into jumping if I actually was showing; but I don't see the point if I'm not.
