(wow, I totally love how you guys added three pages of randomness. lol...well, to get started)
Taryn reined in Cadoc slowly. bringing the frothy stallion to a halt. "easy boy" she murmered, patting his soaking neck. The egg had been in her hands no longer than fourty-eight hours, and already she had run into more trouble than she had ever been in. And, mind you, that was quite a bit. "we still have a long way yet to go, boy" she whispered, pushing back the whispy strands of her black hair again. Her green eyes set out over the seemingly unendless feild. It would take them days to get through it, and the forest as well. The next city was so far, but then again, it was better moving in the open, away from prying eyes. At least, if any one knew that she had the egg now, they would be a good day or so behind her. Hopefully. Taryn eased the stallion again into a smooth rockign canter, and the were off again.

Name: Nicholas Fyreflie(who else?) Nick: Nicholas age: 21 gender: Male looks: Tall, slender, wears a long black coat, gloves that go past his elbows with the fingers cut out of them, and boots that nearly reach his knees. His shirt and pants are black as well, and his hair, which is quite long and somewhat unruly. He has grey eyes weapons: An enchanted sword(one side cuts through anything, and that side glows scarlet) type: Human animal: Stallion, Starcatcher help or hurt?: He's really not sure...
Nicholas slowed the great bay stallion from a dead gallop to an easy canter, throwing a look over his shoulder in case anyone had managed to follow him so far. Thankfully, the pair was alone again... Starcatcher came to an abrupt walk, snorting and shaking his head so bits of foam flew from the iron bar across his mouth, teeth champing restlessly. Nicholas let the horse have his head and looked around, grey eyes taking in the trees around him with little more than mild interest. The important thing was that they were alone again, and finally in the wilds where they knew their way around...
He was jerked from his thoughts by the horse, as Starcatcher's head jerked upright and the powerful muscles along the stud's neck tensed. He'd caught smell of something, and judging by the way he danced suddenly despite his exhausted state, Nicholas judged that the smell unnerved him. The human headed his horse in the direction of whatever agitated Starcatcher, wondering who else might seek a dark forest for a retreat.

"easy boy, be easy" Taryn muttered quietly in her own tongue, pulling the stallion back down to a walk again. They had been running for to long, and though she wished to continue, she knew better than to keep pushing Cadoc. He would push himself to exhaustion for her, but she didnt need him to anymore. For some time, the pair just walked gently, letting the flecks of foam that colored both horse and rider, disolve as the stud relaxed. Taryn glanced around again nervously, and seeing nobody, slipped her hand into her pocket. She could feel it, the smoothness of the egg's surface. It almost made her shiver as she placed her slender fingers around the egg. She almost pulled it from her pocket, when a great huff from Cadoc interupted her, making her drop the egg back to the safety of her pocket. Glancing at Cadoc, Taryn saw his ears prick forward quickly, then he laid them back against his head and let out a shrill cry, pawing the ground. another rider? Taryn questioned herself, and Cadoc seemed to answer for her with another shrill cry, and an abrubt turn about. Taryn quickly gave Cadoc his head, and the stallion was off, throwing up bits of dirt behind him as he went. I hope they will not follow. Though, Cadoc had made quite a bit of a fuss, and it seemed that no one would be able to turn down the inviting calls of her stallion.

In the darkness beneath a canopy of tall trees, the slashing and snapping of the feasting monster filled the air. A deer carcase, only newly slew, lay at the feet of the mighty gryphon who cackled and hissed in triumph and slashed its great beak into it's prey's stomach, devouring the inards of the once fleet equine desendent.
The elf sat under a tree a ways off from her partner, her golden flute between her dark lips, a haunting tune escaping into the air. She chose to leave the beast be when it fed, for it got aggitated and ate grusomely. The deep music lingered as her fingers played over the flutes surface. ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^ Mounted on his noble steed, Ron rode down a small deer trail in the forest, his hand resting on the sword hilt at his side. Many long nights and days of traveling had left him weary and he was barely able to stay on the moving horse, let alone fight. But if neccisary, he would fight to the death, which would be soon coming if he met some one in his current state. Blood trickled down his forehead and matted his hair, his head throbbed and his arms bore blood that stained his white tunic.

Starcatcher's voice answered Cadoc, the stallion's thick black tail flashing behind him as he leapt forward eagerly. Nicholas let the horse go at a smooth canter, curious to see who he chased. Hopefully, it was no one he'd regret meeting... Beneath him, the warm blooded stallion's hooves thudded dully against leaf litter, Starcatcher making his own way after the elven stallion.

Taryn quickly pulled Cadoc back, regretting her action almost as soon as she did so. The stud went right up into the air, letting out another shrill call as he reared. Hitting the ground again, he pawed nervously, but quited enough for Taryn to hear the sound of a flute. Cadoc's ears were flicking franticly, no longer sure which way to go, for it seemed they were trapped both ways. Taryn lingered for a long minute, perhaps to long, before she headed Cadoc toward the sound of the melodic flute. She took Cadoc out easily now, at a gentle trot, so she could listen. "we'll be ok buy" she whispered, again in her own tongue to the nervouse stallion as she watched his coat darken already with a nervouse sweat.

The beast lumbered out of the wood to where his mistress stood beneath the tree, leaning on its trunk. He lay his bloody beak on her shoulder and she glanced at him, still continuing her musical enticement.

Cadoc quieted down immediatly, close enough to hear the flute. His eras preicked forward, and Taryn could see him becoming rather enticed by the sound. he bobbed his head a bit, asking for more rein, which Taryn gave him. moving out a bit faster, Cadoc entered the edge of the forest and let out another high pitched call. Taryn tried to silence him, but she knew he was to enticed by the sound. Though, Taryn was just as curiose. a long minute passed while Cadoc made his way through the forest, and then stopped suddenly, huffing out his sides. Taryn glanced up, and her eyes widened. she saw the pair, a gyphon and an elf. slowly, Taryn jumped from Cadoc, and made her way forward. Her hand slipped to the egg in her pocket, and she held it protectivly.(sp?)

The gryphons large head snapped up as a new scent reached its nares. Its wise opitics stared at the two that approached, clacking its beak. The elf glanced at the monster, noting it's odd behavior and then looked in the direction its gaze was focused. She spotted the pair and her music stopped abruptly as her flut was set down and replaced by her crimson sword."Who are you." She demanded.

Taryn waved her hand, and Cadoc stopped behind her. His nares flared out at the sight of the gyphon, and he huffed loudly, bobbing his head and pawing. "gentle" Taryn reminded him in her elven tongue, before turing to the elf before her. Taryn bit her lip for a minute, studying the crimson blade in the maiden's hand. She thought better of drawing her own long sword, and gave a slight inclanation of her head to the elf. "I am Taryn" she said shortly, her eyes still lingering on her blade. "Might I inquire as to who you are?" she said swiftly, as Cadoc snorted loudly behind her.
